SPECTACULAR FUNDRAISING HITS RECORD

Storm Lake Star Spangled Spectacular fundraising co-chairs Josh Newhouse and Matt Brostad set a goal of $30,000, and raised a record $34,150, thanks to the over 335 donors who gave to this year’s event.

“We are very pleased with how many people and businesses supported this awesome community event,” said Newhouse. “This was an exceptional year.”

Fareway Meat and Grocery contributed $1,916.40 through their Round Up for Fireworks campaign. Throughout the campaign, customers could round up their bill to the next dollar, which Fareway then contributed to Star Spangled Spectacular.

“We were very pleased with Fareway’s contribution, and they want to do it again next year, which is outstanding,” said Newhouse.

Newhouse pointed out that fundraising never really ends, as bills continue to come in, and there are bills to prepare for next year’s event throughout the calendar year. Donation checks can be made out to Star Spangled Spectacular and sent to:

Josh Newhouse, Fundraising Chair, P.O. Box 457, Storm Lake, IA 50588.
