Erickson “Coming Home” as Patriotic Ceremony Speaker

 

            Storm Lake native Jane Andrews Erickson will be “coming home” and serving as the July 4 Patriotic Ceremony speaker for the Star Spangled Spectacular at 12:30 p.m. in Chautauqua Park in Storm Lake.    

Growing up in a community like Storm Lake is the best start a kid could have. That’s how Erickson looks at life and how she lives and teaches. Erickson is proud to be the daughter of Wayne and Bernie Andrews (one of the five Andrews girls), a 1972 graduate of Storm Lake St. Mary’s High School, and an alumna of Buena Vista University where she completed her undergraduate degrees. She also completed a Master of Arts Degree in Leadership from Bellevue University in Bellevue, NE.

Erickson is married to retired Air Force Officer Gus Erickson and together they have 5 adult children and seven amazing grandchildren (or glittles as Jane calls them). The Ericksons live in Bellevue, Nebraska and enjoy “coming home” to Storm Lake.

The Patriotic Ceremony speaker has worked internationally through her organizational leadership development company called The Wellness and Training Works and has enjoyed a very full volunteer life as well. She served as president of both the Kiwanis International Foundation as well as Kiwanis International, the only person in the organization’s history to hold both positions in that order. Her work and volunteer lives have included extensive worldwide travel. Jane Andrews Erickson knows first-hand how special it is to be “coming home.”

All Star Spangled Spectacular entertainment is family friendly and free of charge for the Spectacular. Entertainment is funded through private donations. “Coming Home” is the theme of the 2019 July 3 and 4 Independence Day celebration.
