Fundraising kickoff 2019!

$30,000 SPECTACULAR GOAL FOR ENTERTAINMENT

 

            Fundraising has begun for the 2019 Star Spangled Spectacular. This year’s theme is “Coming Home” and events and activities take place July 3-4, free of charge.

Fundraising Co-chairs Matt Brostad and Josh Newhouse, with assistance from their daughters, prepared a mailing of 700 letters sent out to residents and businesses asking for donations for this year’s event. Newhouse said their goal will again be to raise $30,000, but this year they want to get closer to meeting or exceeding that goal.

“Our commodores have prepared an exciting lineup of events, activities, and performances, and we want to ensure this remains a free family-friendly celebration,” said Newhouse. “We have increased costs this year for fireworks and performances, so we really need donations of any amount to make this all happen.”

Brostad and Newhouse will be contacting some donors in person in the next few days. Donations payable to Star Spangled Spectacular can be dropped off at Storm Lake United or mailed to PO Box 457, Storm Lake IA 50588. Brostad also has created a way to donate via Paypal. The Paypal address is stormlakesss@gmail.com.

           All Star Spangled Spectacular entertainment is family friendly and free of charge for the Spectacular. Entertainment is funded through private donations.
